Sustainable development relies on clean water. Our home, businesses, wellbeing, and environment depend on it. Plumbing harnesses clean water to provide convenience, health, and hygiene; something many of us now take for granted. World Water Day 2021 provides a time of reflection of what water means to each of us.
World Water Day
World Water Day
Approximately 10% of the world population does not have access to clean water.
There are things that we can do to help.
Don’t waste water. Use water, but do so mindfully and more efficiently.
- Install low-flow toilets
- Turn off faucets if not in use
- Shorten the time in the shower
- Water plants by hand rather than a hose
If we make the effort together, we can make a difference!
The Day of Water
World Water Day is a yearly UN observance that brings attention to the importance of freshwater and to advocate for its sustainability as a resource. In Michigan, we are fortunate to have The Great Lakes, which together make up the largest body of fresh water on our planet accounting for 1/5 of the freshwater on our earth.
